November has started. Leaves are changing and we will be celebrating the fall harvest. It is a great time to make fun and easy harvest crafts for preschool.

I have collect some fun and easy harvest crafts for preschoolers and toddlers. Most of the fall crafts for kids need just a few supplies. There are fall reading and math activities and recipes too.

Pair a harvest craft for preschool with a book for some crafting and reading fun together.

Fall Apple Crafts - Fun Harvest Crafts for Preschool

Make a fun tree craft using a toilet paper roll and paint a cute harvest craft. You can make a fall or spring tree too. This is a great easy craft to talk about recycling.

Use a paper plate to make an apple tree using paint. I used watercolors but you could use washable tempura paint or your favorite media like markers or colored pencils.

Cut up a plate for the tree trunk and then use a small plate for the leaves and apples. You can easily turn it into a fall tree by using colorful oranges, reds, and yellows.

Make an apple craft using squares of paper and a paper plate. Make larger or small sized pieces as you like. This is a great fine motor skill craft.

Make a fun tissue paper apple craft, great fine motor skill practice. You could use yellow, red, and orange and make a tissue paper leaf for a fun fall craft too.

Use a cork to make an apple tree craft and glue on some red buttons. No buttons, use a hole punch to make little red circles or use red sequins.

book review “I used this book for an apple themed curriculum based speech-language unit for preschoolers. The story is set on a farm and the various common farm animals take an apple off the tree one by one counting from ten to zero.

The text follows a predictable rhythm and rhyme sequence that the children enjoyed ‘filling-in’ and chiming along.

Each animal makes a different noise which was good for my kids developing language as well as speech articulation. Each page also features the animal using a different word for ‘eating’ such as ‘munch, chomp, nibble’ etc. which was great for expanding vocabulary.

The farmer exclaims on each page; “Save some for me” which was a great lesson in sharing/thinking of others, and problem solving for social skills objectives. Overall, this is a great fun story the children loved and can be used countless ways to expand language skills.”

Pumpkin Books

My three year old and I loved too many pumpkins. (I'm not sure who enjoyed it more.). Rebecca Estelle doesn't like pumpkins, but, when one smashes to slimey smithereens in her yard one fall (my child loves this part), she learns to make the best of a bad situation.

Before purchasing I had read some reviews stating this book had "strong language." Don't worry. It's fine for toddlers. (Older children would probably like it too, but I cannot say for certain.). I hope you enjoy!

My children and husband absolutely love these National Geographic books! I think we have them all. We rotate them according to the season. They are nonfiction but use great pictured of real kids, and they’re short enough to be an easy bedtime story.

Scarecrow Books

My four grandchildren love the Otis books and want me to read them again over and over. The artwork is eye-catching and the story line always has a positive message I can discuss with my little ones after we finish the book.

"The Little Scarecrow Boy" is a good choice for a fall read in your classroom. It lends itself well to expansion curriculum projects. Lesson themes may include scarecrows, farming, family relationships, emotions, etc.

The repetitive text is enjoyable and predictable. I have read it to both a 4-year-old and a 7-year-old class, they all loved it! The text is simple enough for a 7-year-old to read aloud as well. I also liked the fact that this book did not incorporate any "Halloween" themes.
